Podcasts For Men
The Best Time To Listen To Podcasts
Well all have dead time, be it time spent on the highway on the way to work in the morning, your evening walk or while you’re doing your HIIT training.
Times like these, when you’re unable to read a physical book due to having to focus onto another task or hold something in your hands, these are the most ideal times to listen to podcasts.
Just like a book, we can learn a ton of great pieces of training advice, lessons for success, motivation and gain insights into the minds of the greats.
And best of all, podcasts are completely free!
Unlike physical books, kindle books or audiobooks you don’t have to fork out a cent to get the benefits and information that podcasts are able to provide.
You don’t need to go out of your way and download them either, simply subscribe initially and then let the content filter down to your device, when you’ve got that dead time I mentioned earlier throw on your headphones and reap the benefits.
5 Podcasts Every Man Should Listen To
I’ve listened to a heap of different podcasts, some were simply marketing, others were hit and miss in terms of content… the following 5 podcasts have benefited me the most and offer the most consistent, high quality content. In my opinion every man should listen to the below 5 podcasts for a balance of knowledge on physique, nutrition, cognitive biases, habits and insights into the super successful and actionable advice to improve their lives.
If there’s any podcasts you’d add to this list let me know in the comments.
The Beastly Gentleman
Bestselling author and bloggers, David de las Morenas (HowToBeast.com) and Dave Perrotta (PostgradCasanova.com) team up each week to share insights on how to get men unstuck and reach their potential in all areas of life. David and Dave interview experts in: self improvement, dating, sex, relationships, fitness and entrepreneurship to help you to “level up” and embrace the beastly gentleman lifestyle. Guests include: James Altucher, Hal Elrod, Andrew Ferebee and Christian McQueen.
David and Dave, both successful authors and entrepreneurs share some fantastic insights and engage numerous guests from other podcasts, books and endeavours – offering us actionable advice, insights and habits into their lives and how they achieved the success that they did.
I was featured on the early days of the Beastly Gentleman podcast ‘BGP 004: SJ – Habits, Self-Publishing and Getting Ripped’ here.
Muscle For Life
Hey! My name is Mike Matthews and I'm a bestselling health and fitness author, and creator of MuscleForLife.com. My mission is to empower people to take control of their health and fitness by following a healthy, enjoyable lifestyle that not only gives them the body they've always wanted, but enables them to live a long, vital, disease-free life.
This is without a doubt the best no BS fitness podcast out there. Mike knows his stuff, and just like the content in his books – it shows.
Instead of recommending you 43 different supplements and meal plans Mike actually delves into training, nutrition and recovery techniques that work with his experience and legitimate studies to back them up.
If you’re in the process of transforming your physique, this is the podcast for you.
The Tai Lopez Show “Grand Theory Of Everything”
How to find health, wealth, love and happiness.
Despite much of the marketing you’ve seen on YouTube or Google by Tai Lopez, his free podcast is great.
Exploring cognitive biases, interviews with successful entrepreneurs and figures and the analysis of a variety of books – you can’t listen to an episode of Tai Lopez’s podcast without learning a bunch of new things.
The Tim Ferriss Show Podcast
Tim Ferriss is a self-experimenter and bestselling author, best known for The 4-Hour Workweek, which has been translated into 40+ languages. Newsweek calls him "the world's best human guinea pig," and The New York Times calls him "a cross between Jack Welch and a Buddhist monk." In this show, he deconstructs world-class performers from eclectic areas (investing, chess, pro sports, etc.), digging deep to find the tools, tactics, and tricks that listeners can use.
Interviews with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tony Robbins and a number of other high profile guests.
Tim Ferriss’ interviews and rapid fire questions are some of the best out there, allowing us to delve deep into the minds of the ultra-successful.
Tim also covers a bunch of his own essays on stoicism on life.
Be sure to check out the episode with Arnold Schwarzenegger on ‘psychological warfare’.
The Joe Rogan Experience
The podcast of Comedian Joe Rogan.
The Joe Rogan Experience podcasts features episodes far longer than any other podcast I’ve listened to – with episodes generally around the 3 hour mark.
Joe, comedian and UFC commentator interviews a number of different guests weekly, discussing their success, posing them thought provoking questions as well as providing motivation of his own to the listener.
From comedians, actors and UFC legends the Joe Rogan experience is definetely worth checking out, browse through the archives and download any of the (extensive!) list of previous episodes that sound relevant to your interests.
