What Is Success?

What Is Success?

Ask your family, your friends or your training partner what success means to them... I guarantee their answer is different to yours.
When it comes to success everyone has a vision in mind, be it the acquisition of a skill, the ownership of a material possession or a feeling inside them that'll signifies success.

To some success may be selfless, with changing 100 peoples lives signifying success in their eyes.

To others success is selfish... it's the moment their bank balance ticks over to 7 figures while they have that lime green Lamborghini Murcielago parked in their driveway..

I can't tell you exactly what success is, I can only tell you what success is to me.

But regardless of what your exact measure of success is you'll find a few key points among all of our definitions...

Success is liking yourself...

You must like your mindset and your physique.
If you've sacrificed either of these on the road to 'success' you've shot yourself in the foot.

A strong body and a bulletproof mindset forge a successful life, if you've allowed either to deteriorate in the process you've made a mistake.
Health comes before wealth, if you've given up your health you'll never be able to enjoy your wealth - be it monetary or any other form.

Success is liking what you do...

Picasso, one of the most prolific men to walk the face of this earth was far more than an artist, Picasso knew something that the majority of men, to this day still do not know.

Picasso knew how to live.
From the gym to the restaurant, the department store to the corporate skyscrapers that line the cities sky.
Picasso’s dichotomy is everywhere.

The definition of a dichotomy is “a division or contrast between two things that are or are represented as being opposed or entirely different.”

Few men rise up and challenge the status quo that we’re conditioned to.

Job security, a few coins deposited into your bank account once a fortnight, a pat on the back every once in a while when you’re able to acquire a new customer for the corporate giant that is your workplace.

That’s what you get in return for doing that which you hate for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.

That’s what you get in return for doing what you hate.

“I’ll work hard for the next 3 years in this industry I hate, only then will I be able to go on that European vacation I’ve been dreaming of for years”

That my friend is a classic case of Picasso’s dichotomy.

Burn Your Boats! A Lesson In Fearlessness

“Never permit a dichotomy to rule your life, a dichotomy in which you hate what you do so you can have pleasure in your spare time. Look for a situation in which your work will give you as much happiness as your spare time.” – Pablo Picasso

Working all day in a workplace you hate you can spend those few unoccupied hours playing that sport that you love.

Committing years of your life to grinding it out in a hell hole with nothing but the promise you made to yourself that a few years down the track you’ll do something you’ll enjoy.

Don’t allow yourself to get stuck in that trap.

What if tomorrow never comes?

We only have so many tomorrows, how many exactly – we don’t know.

Stop spending day in day out doing what you hate, build upon your passions.

Become an expert at what you love.

Monetize it.

Success is liking how you do it...

Your name and your integrity are your most valuable assets.

Once you sell them or give them away they're gone. You can't get them back.

It takes a lifetime to build a name and only seconds to have it tarnished for an eternity...

You may have endless amounts of cash in the bank or 19" biceps, but if you had to cheat, if you had to take a path that you're not proud of to get there you'll never see yourself as a true success.

Attain success by putting in honest hard work.

We all have our own definition of success...

With perseverance you'll achieve more than the 99% simply due to exercising your grit.

After one or two attempts at an endeavor without tasting the sweet nectar of success the 99% quit.
When you persevere and succeed your success is a spotlight shining down on their lack of will and intestinal fortitude.

They hate that.

I learnt a plethora of new information on dieting and fitness by reading and applying what I read, to find out what does work and what doesn’t work, because as I’m sure you’ve noticed the health and fitness industry is full of non-sense claims and BS. I found out what was true and what worked for me and applied that knowledge. And you bet I had fun during the whole process.
