The Top 10 TED Talks
top-10-TED-talks

There's a plethora of TED Talks out there, over the last few years I've compiled my top 10 TED Talks for those looking to build an unbreakable mindset, learn about body language, power posing and other physiological 'hacks' to help them improve their life along as well as knowledge, motivation and lessons from those (such as UCLA coach, John Wooden) who have achieved massive success in their chosen fields.

If you're a gym-goer, entrepreneur or just an average guy on the road of self-improvement give my top 10 TED Talks a watch.

Note: My top 10 TED Talks are in no particular order.

TED Talk 1 - Body Language & Power Poses

Body language affects how others see us, but it may also change how we see ourselves. Social psychologist Amy Cuddy shows how "power posing" -- standing in a posture of confidence, even when we don't feel confident -- can affect testosterone and cortisol levels in the brain, and might even have an impact on our chances for success.

TED Talk 2 - The Puzzle of Motivation

Career analyst Dan Pink examines the puzzle of motivation, starting with a fact that social scientists know but most managers don't: Traditional rewards aren't always as effective as we think. Listen for illuminating stories -- and maybe, a way forward.

TED Talk 3 - Tiny Habits

What if someone told you to floss only one tooth everyday? Or start the new year, not with grand resolutions, but with a simple challenge.. like ONE pushup a day? BJ Fogg shows us that the key to lasting change does not lie in planning big, monumental changes, but in thinking really, really small. Chosen by Fortune Magazine as one of "10 New Gurus You Should Know", Fogg directs the Persuasive Tech Lab at Stanford University.

TED Talk 4 - Knowledge & Reading

In this talk, Tai Lopez reminds us that everyone wants the good life, but not everyone gets the good life because not everyone is willing to do what it takes.

TED Talk 5 - Cold Shower Therapy

Joel Runyon is a javelin-throwing, world, traveling, triathlete set on doing impossible things in order to tell a great story with his life. A few years ago, Joel was an unemployed college grad who decided he no longer wanted to live a boring life. He made a list of all the things he used to think were impossible and then set out to do them. Joel created the Blog of Impossible Things and works to live a life of adventure and meaning.

TED Talk 6 - Winning Vs. Success

With profound simplicity, Coach John Wooden redefines success and urges us all to pursue the best in ourselves. In this inspiring talk he shares the advice he gave his players at UCLA, quotes poetry and remembers his father's wisdom.

TED Talk 7 - Spartan Race

Joe De Sena, founder of Spartan Race, an international obstacle racing series uniquely designed to test your mental and emotional fitness and push you past your limits, shares his unique approach to personal fitness and introduces you to the exercise athletes everywhere love to hate.

TED Talk 8 - Influence

In a world of too many options and too little time, our obvious choice is to just ignore the ordinary stuff. Marketing guru Seth Godin spells out why, when it comes to getting our attention, bad or bizarre ideas are more successful than boring ones.

TED Talk 9 - The Innovation of Elon Musk

Entrepreneur Elon Musk is a man with many plans. The founder of PayPal, Tesla Motors and SpaceX sits down with TED curator Chris Anderson to share details about his visionary projects, which include a mass-marketed electric car, a solar energy leasing company and a fully reusable rocket.

TED Talk 10 - Fitness & Self Sabotage

Leading executive coach shares insights about how we become liberated when the pain of where we are exceeds the fear of the unknown. She discusses how we get in the way of our own efforts to improve our health, careers, romances, and other priorities — and shows how adopting a childlike openness can start the virtuous cycle of improvement.

I’m SJ. I’m a fitness enthusiast and published author. I transformed my body from a skinny fat 135lbs with 18% body fat to a solid 192lbs at 8% body fat. I became qualified in a field I was passionate about. I founded several online businesses that allow me to pursue ideas and projects in my life that I am passionate about without having to constantly worry about money. I published several eBooks explaining the training and dieting techniques I used to achieve the body I have today. I learnt a plethora of new information on dieting and fitness by reading and applying what I read, to find out what does work and what doesn’t work, because as I’m sure you’ve noticed the health and fitness industry is full of non-sense claims and BS. I found out what was true and what worked for me and applied that knowledge. And you bet I had fun during the whole process.
