All BS Aside, This Is The Only Thing That Matters
Intent doesn’t matter
Excuses don’t matter
External circumstances don’t matter
Results Matter
Check out this great video by Jim Rohn on Results.
In fact I’d go as far as saying results are the only thing that matter
On a daily basis I’m asked what the best diet to get shredded is or some variation of that question, my answer has and will always remain the same – the best diet is the diet you’re going to stick to.
Why? Because that’s how you get results.
Remember, results are the only thing that matters.
We’re halfway through the year and the vast majority of people out there have given up on their new year’s resolutions, those hefty goals they wrote down on paper such as…
“I will lose 20lbs of fat”
“I will bench press 315lbs for 3 reps”
“I will make $2,000 in passive income a month”
“I will go on 30 dates”
Come the end of December as the year draws to a close and we review our successes and shortcomings over the past 12 months the excuses and explanations of why external factors prevented them from achieving any or all of these goals will prevail.
But that doesn’t get you anywhere. You can lie to yourself about why you didn’t accomplish that goal but at the end of the day…
Results are the only thing that matter.
Excuses don’t get you what you want. Excuses don’t get you anything
When it comes to business your livelihood depends on results – if you’re a personal trainer your potential clients don’t care about how much you can bench press or how many specialist certifications you have, their primary concern is whether you can get them results.
Results among your clients are the ultimate form of social proof and build immense credibility.
If you’ve burned your boats and thrown in the 9 – 5 jive to be an entrepreneur you’ll agree without dispute that results are the only thing that matters. If you’re unable to establish positive cash flow, obtain more customers or expand and grow your business then you’re wasting your time and you’ll spend the majority of your time surviving instead of thriving.
The super-secret formula for getting results is as follows...
Consistent hard work + knowledge
Each of the above is useless by itself.
If you’re working hard but you don’t know what you’re doing you're merely wasting time. Example – you’ve followed the exact same clean eating diet for 12 months without cheating once and haven’t lost any weight, little did you know you were in a calorie surplus the entire time. If you equipped yourself with the necessary knowledge to lose fat all of this hard work wouldn’t have gone to waste.
On the other hand if you’re equipped with all the special knowledge in the world and you fail to take action and implement what you’ve learned that is another sure-fire path to no results.
Successful people understand this concept, that’s how they obtained their success.
Successful people do the necessary research and put in the work, they measure progress often and pivot as need be based on what is and what isn’t working (don’t get caught up on the vessel, focus on the destination, the result).
