Steak And Eggs Diet – Become A Lean, Mean, Steak Eating Machine

Want To Get Shredded, Feel Great & Eat Mouth Watering Food?

Most conventional diets aimed at fat loss will leave you feeling run down in terms of your performance in the gym as well as the challenge of mentally enduring it.

Introducing The Steak And Eggs Diet!

Before I delve into the details of the steak and eggs diet (well, it's actually very straight forward) it's worth you knowing that you WILL lose fat if you follow this diet. This isn't one of those complicated diets based upon calorie calculations, carbohydrate cycling or any other overwhelming techniques.

The steak and eggs diet isn't a new fad diet, it's stood the test of time.
Vince Gironda, a famous bodybuilder from the 60s strongly advocated this diet (Vince trained Arnold and many of the other greats).

The steak and eggs diet is moderately high in protein, high in good fats and extremely low in carbohydrates, essentially placing it in the category of ketogenic diets.

Here's How The Steak And Eggs Diet Works...

  • You eat twice per day, either at breakfast and dinner or lunch and dinner
  • Each meal is to be the same
  • Each meal should contain 0.75 - 1.5lbs of steak and between 3 and 6 eggs
  • Your eggs can be prepared in whatever fashion you enjoy most (I like to poach mine)
  • Use as much or as little butter and seasoning (salt/pepper) as you wish on your steak
  • Every 5th day is cheat day - eat whatever you want

That's it.

No snacking, no supplements, no bullshit.

No other food is to be eaten except on your cheat day, as stated... no exceptions.

Your Cheat Day

The cheat day serves a purpose.
Besides keeping you sane and mentally healthy the 5th day on which you can consume whatever you please (which, without a doubt will be high in carbohydrates) acts as what we call a 'refeed' day. After an extended period of time without carbohydrates your muscles will begin to look flat, this is due to the depletion of glycogen within your muscles.

In order to refill your glycogen stores you have to eat carbohydrates!

After your re-feed day your muscles will look full and round and your performance in the gym will increase. I state day 5 as your re-feed day just to keep things simple, but you may wish to alter this slightly depending on how you look and feel... anywhere between 4 and 7 days is sufficient for a re-feed. The leaner you are the more often you should re-feed. If you're extremely overweight or not lifting weights regularly then I wouldn't re-feed any more than once per week (every 7 days).

What is a ketogenic diet?

A ketogenic diet is a diet that contains little to no carbohydrates whatsoever. After several days of depleting your body of carbohydrates the body enters a state known as 'ketosis'. While in ketosis your body uses fat as the primary energy source as opposed to carbohydrates.

Can I substitute steak for another meat?

No, this is the steak and eggs diet.
There are other forms of ketogenic diets out there, if you're after similar results but can't stomach steak and eggs then look into other ketogenic foods (such as nuts etc.)

Is the steak and eggs diet sustainable?

Yes, so long as fat loss is your main goal and you have the willpower to stick with it.

Isn't cholesterol  and a large quantity of fats unhealthy?

Diets that are low in protein and high in simple carbohydrates are the unhealthy ones my friend.
Both saturated fat and cholesterol are essential for any healthy diet and come with the added bonus of increasing your body's testosterone production.
Your brain, heart and sex hormones all require fat. Vince and a plethora of other fitness enthusiasts have been following this old school diet for decades, they're fine and you will be too.

Aren't I neglecting my body by not eating a range of foods?

In my opinion no.

Eggs contain calcium, magnesium and phosphorus.

Steak is high in iron, zinc, selenium, vitamin B12 and Vitamin B6.

Compare this to the diet of the average American. You'll be consuming far more nutrients daily.

Is the steak and eggs diet for me?

If you're looking to shed fat, feel energized and give your testosterone levels a natural boost then absolutely yes, the steak and eggs diet is for you.
If gaining mass is your primary goal I would advise against the steak and eggs diet as you really do need a calorie surplus (and carbohydrates) to pack on additional size.

What can I drink while on the steak and eggs diet?

The same beverages I recommend on any other diet which are water, green tea or black coffee.
On your cheat day however you can drink whatever you please.

My Closing Thoughts...

The #1 reason everyone gives for not being able to lose weight is they don't know how to diet, they don't know what to eat or they don't know how to count calories.

If you're one of those people then this diet is perfect for you my friend - muster up the willpower and you're on your way to absolutely shredding that fat.
