Speed Reading Wizardry

Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Elon Musk, Steve Jobs...

These titans in their respective fields have reached the echeleon of success, they've impacted the world and they've made billions of dollars while doing so.
That's not the only thing they have in common either...

They all spend hours each day reading.

"Readers are leaders"

You can't pull knowledge and ideas to erradicate your competition or innovate new ways to perform tasks and build upon your current self out of no-where...

This is where books come into the equation.

  • Trends
  • Models
  • Techniques
  • Strategies
  • Recipes

You'll find all of these things tucked away inside the pages of a $10 book that can easily provide you with $10,000,000 of value.

However when you've got ass kicking to do you can't spend your entire day sitting in an old chair reading, and you don't need to either.
Most books are a rehash of a similiar books from times gone by, you'll find one or two main new ideas expressed in the book.

This is why skim reading is so worthwhile, in a minute fraction of the time you're absorbing 80% of the information.

The Only Laws You Must Obey Are The Laws Of Physics

You don't have to (and shouldn't) keep your books in tip top condition - ink the margins, write on the pages, circle and scribble as necessary so when you're reading the book again in the future you're able to refer back to your notes and hone in on the important sections.

Read multiple books at once, there's no need to finish one book before commencing another - I enjoy having a technical book, a biography and an old classic all on the go at the same time.

Listen to audiobooks when you're driving, music is like a drug and provides no benefit.

You don’t have to read every page of every book you ever pick up, there’s millions of books out there and our lifetime is finite… we don’t have enough time to read them all, so don’t attempt to.

The Deserve It Factor

There’s a cognitive bias on books, the average book only has 1 or 2 pieces of gold, most books have stories and anecdotes to prove their point and you have to get to the point following the Pareto Principle of 80/20… 80 percent of the book you read gives you only 20 percent of the knowledge, and 20 percent of the pages have 80 percent of the knowledge.

I’m SJ. I’m a fitness enthusiast and published author. I transformed my body from a skinny fat 135lbs with 18% body fat to a solid 192lbs at 8% body fat. I became qualified in a field I was passionate about. I founded several online businesses that allow me to pursue ideas and projects in my life that I am passionate about without having to constantly worry about money. I published several eBooks explaining the training and dieting techniques I used to achieve the body I have today. I learnt a plethora of new information on dieting and fitness by reading and applying what I read, to find out what does work and what doesn’t work, because as I’m sure you’ve noticed the health and fitness industry is full of non-sense claims and BS. I found out what was true and what worked for me and applied that knowledge. And you bet I had fun during the whole process.
