Negativity Brings Failure – Notorious B.I.G. on the Winners Mindset

Negativity Brings Failure

Biggie Smalls said it best "Negativity brings failure. We ain't trying to fail in this game, we are trying to succeed."

This is the essence of the law of attraction.

Think negative and you'll create negative results and actions.

Think positive and you'll create positive results and actions.

We're not talking about 'The Secret' here. You can't think of success and material possessions and acquire them without putting in the work.
It doesn't happen.

If you've got big goals, be it to transform your physique or clear a million dollars in your online business then you must make this mindset shift while you chip away at your goal like a sculptor.

You Attract What You Think About

If you’re practising negative self-talk subconsciously (telling yourself you can’t do it, you’re not good enough, you don’t deserve it) then the universe will ensure you’re right – you’ll face roadblock after roadblock, your resolve will get beat down and you’ll quit.

You knew you had the ability, you knew you could acquire the skills, muster up the energy and get the shit done but you told yourself you couldn’t and hey presto, you were right.

This goes back to the old saying “whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right.”

The Notorious BIG, Conor McGregor & The Vast Majority of Wildly Successful Individuals Understand This...

“If you have a clear picture in your head that something is going to happen and a clear belief that it will happen no matter what then nothing can stop it. It is destined to happen. It’s perfect.”

Visualize it, have it your mind.

That goal physique, that first place trophy, that car in your driveway.

Whatever it is your chasing.

Work like hell for it while envisioning it’s already yours.

As McGregor said...

“This is the law of attraction. When things are going good and you visualize these good things, that’s easy. What’s not easy to do is when things are going bad, and you’re visualizing the good stuff. And that was what I was able to do. Even though I was having these troubles at home, and even though I had no job, and nothing was happening, I was still able to feel like it was. I was like a kid using my imagination. Driving in my girlfriends little car, a little Peugeot 206 shaking down the road, I was visualizing my success. I’m sitting at the steering wheel visualizing a brand new car, visualizing good things in times of struggle. And when you can do that, that really makes the law of attraction work. It really attracts the fortune to you more, when you’re in the struggle and still visualizing these things.”

Finding Yourself Struggling With Negativity? Implement A Pattern Interrupt!

Sick of self sabotaging yourself with negativity? It’s time to implement a pattern interrupt.

The pattern interrupt is a NLP technique designed to break your focus or commitment to a certain task.
Ever seen someone wearing an elastic band around their arm, releasing it upon themselves when they curse or talk about a certain subject? That’s the pattern interrupt in it’s most basic form.

Pattern interrupts are used in sports, business (particularly sales), but most importantly can be used in your life to erradicate any and all negative habits you may have.

From eating junk food to watching pornography or skipping the gym – a pattern interrupt can be implemented to keep you on track and stop you in your tracks at the first thought of performing your negative habit.

Step 1 - decide upon your pattern interrupt

you can use different pattern interrupts for different negative habits if you wish – e.g. if you’re thinking of eating junk food you could slap the elastic band on your wrist, meanwhile if you’re about to skip the gym you may choose to splash cold water on your face.
As long as you’re able to identify which interrupt is for which habit you’re golden, if not using one pattern interrupt for all negative habits works too.

Step 2 - make your action of choice a trigger

Using our pattern interrupt to simply stop whatever we were about to do is good, but it isn’t enough. Your pattern interrupt should also act as a trigger for your (positive) replacement habit or action. In my book, Becoming A Lion Among Sheep I discuss triggers in depth, in short a trigger is the action or movement that sets of your chain of positive habits – like the first domino hitting the others, commencing a chain reaction.

Step 3 - put it all together

Once you’ve decided on what pattern interrupts are set for your bad habits and you’ve set a positive habit or action as the trigger of that interrupt it’s time to put it into action! Here are a few examples of bad habits with pattern interrupts, triggers and positive habits:

Example

Bad habit:
Negative self talk (convincing yourself why you can’t do something)

Pattern interrupt:
Slapping elastic band on your arm
