Want To Wake Up Easier?
Do you often find yourself getting out of bed, even after a full nights' sleep lacking energy and feeling sluggish when it comes time to get going?
When it comes to sleep I love experimenting.
Sleep masks, 4 hours sleep vs. 7 hours sleep, sleeping on trigger point mat... I've tried it all.
There's constant debate over how much sleep we need per night, be it 6, 7 or 8 hours.
We're not here to discuss that.
I found regardless of how many hours I slept, be it 4 or 10 if I ate a large meal within 4~ hours of going to bed I'd wake up feeling average.
I wouldn't wake up tired or sleep deprived, I'd feel ok but I wasn't performing at my best when it came time to put pen to paper or smash around the heavy iron in the gym.
I tried different supplements and evening rituals trying to figure out what was causing it.
It was food.
Go To Bed Hungry!
Don't eat within 4 or 5 hours of going to bed and I guarantee you'll wake up feeling far more energetic.
Particularly when bulking due to the sheer number of calories I was consuming it was almost a given that I'd be eating right up until the time I went to sleep, sure, I managed to get to sleep OK however when I woke up I'd always be lacking energy.
Many still don't believe it.
They eat MASSIVE meals upon waking in the morning, a 'hearty breakfast' along with a large dinner before retiring for the night.
They're shooting themselves in the foot.
Stay hungry and you'll be staying agile.
Stay agile and you'll spring out of bed every morning ready to kick ass.
Consider Yourself A Lion...
Think of yourself like a lion, when you’re in a fasted state you’re quick, agile, motivated… you’re on the hunt and you’re out to kill.
This is your body in a fasted state, before you’ve consumed your first meal.
Once that lion finds and kills his prey he feasts, consuming a lot of food in one sitting. Once the lion has eaten he’s slowed down, he’s lost his performance, he begins to tire, he slows down and no longer has the desire to push forward as he did when on the hunt.
Reap The Benefits
Here are the benefits I've found since incorporating an evening fast into my dieting regime...
Increased Energy In The Gym
You’ll find yourself feeling lighter, with more energy particularly when you’re deep amidst your workout.
Increased Focus While Reading & Writing
Your attention to detail, motivation and overall productivity will be boosted. Whether you’re reading or book or writing a research paper you’ll find yourself working far more efficiently when in a fasted state.
Overall Energy Gains
Burdening it with the task of digesting large amounts of food early on in the day will leave you energy levels running low as the afternoon approaches…
