Do Not Confuse Good For Great
good-to-great

With laser-focus, determination and sheer willpower your possibilities are limitless.

  • Start an online business
  • Start running
  • Perfect your squat, bench and deadlift

Stick with it and you'll become good at any of the above, you'll excel beyond many who lack intensity, focus and self-discipline.

Hell, you can do all three.

What If You Want To Become Great?

Greatness is a different beast.

Greatness comes with a large, often unseen price tag.

Opportunity.

You can become good at any number of things, but if you want to go beyond - if you truly want to become great you've got to sacrifice more.

You've got to give it all up.

You've got to understand the opportunity cost to reach that next level.

Opportunity Cost

Every single decision you make comes with an associated cost, whether you see it or not. Time or sacrificed activities are the price you’re paying.

The 60 Second Differential

Running a 4 minute kilometre is good, any relatively fit gym-goer that commits several months to building their cardio conditioning will be able to blast through a 4 minute kilometre.

Running a 3 minute kilometre on the other hand is a feat of greatness, you can't alternate between lifting weights, a few games of pick-up basketball and hit the track occasionally while expecting to run a 3 minute kilometre.

In my example the difference between good and great is only 60 seconds however the repetition, training and preparation increase tenfold.

I’m SJ. I’m a fitness enthusiast and published author. I transformed my body from a skinny fat 135lbs with 18% body fat to a solid 192lbs at 8% body fat. I became qualified in a field I was passionate about. I founded several online businesses that allow me to pursue ideas and projects in my life that I am passionate about without having to constantly worry about money. I published several eBooks explaining the training and dieting techniques I used to achieve the body I have today. I learnt a plethora of new information on dieting and fitness by reading and applying what I read, to find out what does work and what doesn’t work, because as I’m sure you’ve noticed the health and fitness industry is full of non-sense claims and BS. I found out what was true and what worked for me and applied that knowledge. And you bet I had fun during the whole process.
