By Hook Or By Crook

If You're Setting Out to Achieve Audacious Goals You Need To Read This Post...

Sustainable happiness and feelings of accomplishment don't come from eating junk food or by buying that shiny new car you've had your eye on.

Authentic happiness comes from progress.

Progress towards your goals, regardless of what they are.

Want to gain 65lbs of lean muscle mass and build a physique that resemble a Greek god?

Want to ditch your soul sucking 9 - 5 job and build your own six figure passive income stream?

Want to build 10 orphanages in a third world country and make a difference?

These three goals are all achievable by yourself or I, as long as we're willing to put in the consistent work and persevere through stages of falling and rising progress.

Most guys set small goals and fail to achieve them for 1 specific reason.

It's not a lack of will or discipline.

It's not because the goal is merely a pipe dream.

Your Goals Should Be Set, The Path To Achieve Them Should Not

The biggest mistake I see guys make when chasing their big goals, whether these be in the gym or in their own online business is how rigid they are.

Yes, once you set your goal see it through to the end - don't alter your goal because of how hard it is or how long it's going to take.

You MUST be willing to change your game plan to get attain your goal.

There's an old English saying that illustrates this mentality....

[bctt tweet="By hook or by crook" username="ignorelimitscom"]

"By any means necessary to accomplish the purpose; one way or another."

Do whatever it takes.

Struggling To Get Shredded?

overtraining-signs

Your goal is to attain 10% body fat, the level at which abdominals, striations and vascularity starts to become prominent.

Don't get caught up on the specific diet you're using.

"The paleo diet is the best diet out there"

"I'm going to use the fruitarian diet to get shredded"

When transforming your physique you should be taking weekly (or at least fortnightly) measurements.

[bullet_block large_icon="0.png" width="" alignment="center"]

  • Measure your body fat percentage
  • Measure your chest, shoulders, arms, legs and waist with a tape measure
  • Take a progress photo in the same location/lighting/time of day
  • Gauge how your clothes are fitting
  • Record your lifts in the gym - are they going up or down?

These measurements are FAR more important then the specific diet you use to get shredded, the diet is merely the means.

When you find that you're not progressing at all it's time for change.

Don't do what most guys do and either:

  1. Continue slugging away without changing a single thing (this is the definition of insanity)
  2. Set the bar for your goal lower or abandon it completely

Business Launch Not Going Well?

by-hook-or-by-crook-saying

You launched an apparel ecommerce store and aren't seeing any sales, your goal is $4,000 within the first 3 months.

Increasing sales comes down to converting more visitors.

"My website is already on point, I don't know why I'm not getting sales"

"These singlet designs are the best"

That's very subjective, what YOU think is good and what your CUSTOMER think is good are two different things.

You must be willing to split test, don't commit to one layout, one design, one product.

Test everything.

[bullet_block large_icon="0.png" width="" alignment="center"]

  • Test different logos
  • Adjust your pricing, cheaper often portrays poor quality and customers would rather pay more for a product with a perceived higher value
  • Market through different channels - if you're not seeing any traffic coming through your Instagram campaign don't dismiss Pinterest without trying it
  • Consider altering your product, remember your goal is $4,000 in in sales, not to sell a specific T-shirt

[/bullet_block]

Once again, the result is far more important than the specific approach you use to get there.

You Have Power Over Your Mind

In the realm of both information and ecommerce business I've had to pivot and alter my 'master plan' many, many times.

I was stubborn, I didn't want to change niches when my ecommerce store had a plummet in sales due to a constant increase in competitors undercutting me.

After much frustration and deliberation I pivoted.

My goal wasn't to sell racerback singlets, my goal was the bottom line.

I found a product just as profitable in a niche with less than half the competitors I had in the fitness apparel niche.

By hook or by crook, I adopted the 'by any means necessary' mentality to accomplish my goal.

I’m SJ. I’m a fitness enthusiast and published author. I transformed my body from a skinny fat 135lbs with 18% body fat to a solid 192lbs at 8% body fat. I became qualified in a field I was passionate about. I founded several online businesses that allow me to pursue ideas and projects in my life that I am passionate about without having to constantly worry about money. I published several eBooks explaining the training and dieting techniques I used to achieve the body I have today. I learnt a plethora of new information on dieting and fitness by reading and applying what I read, to find out what does work and what doesn’t work, because as I’m sure you’ve noticed the health and fitness industry is full of non-sense claims and BS. I found out what was true and what worked for me and applied that knowledge. And you bet I had fun during the whole process.
